Each year the Columbus Technical Council confers the Technical Person of the Year Award to the individual who, in the judgment of their peers, excels in his or her chosen field as well as in service to technical and professional societies and to the community. The criteria for selection for the award includes the character and service of the individual nominated, with an emphasis on the quality, quantity, and significance of the individual's contributions to his or her chosen field.

Nominations for the Technical Person of the Year Award should be received by March 16, 2006, from the society's president or a designee from that particular society. The nomination package should outline the nominee's qualifications, and include letters of support, a curriculum vitae, and other supporting documentation (not to exceed 25 pages).  Three copies of the nomination must be submitted to:
