Ellis L. Foster, Jr. Award - Middle Schools
This program has been named in memory of Ellis L. Foster, Jr., who contributed so much to young people in Central Ohio throughout his life.
In recognition of the need to encourage students to technical careers at an early age, the CTC started a pilot middle school program in 1991. Since then, CTC, with resources provided by corporate members, has distributed over $20,000 to hundreds of teachers who identified needs for supplies and materials associated with candidate scientific and technical class projects. According to the teachers, the class projects made possible with these funds have or will impact about 650 classes and more than 15,000 students. Included in this total are 24 classes where projects in creative activities were initiated and encouraged by the Inventors Network and the Innovation Alliance with funds provided by CTC. This CTC program element also offers resources to Technical Partnerships with Central Ohio's middle schools. (Follow this link for more information)
